
Juris Austrum
Juris Austrums has been in Australian merchandising, retail chain store organisations and business development for the last 40 years. He has held senior level marketing; line management and contract management positions in the manufacturing, and consumer goods sectors. For the last 15 years Juris has worked extensively with Indonesia and in the South East Asia Marketplace. For the past 6 years he has operated his own international business development and Asian Business Culture coaching consultancy to advance growth between Australian and Indonesia.
He has been an Associate Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute; an Associate Fellow of the Australian Advertising Institute; a member of the Australian Management Institute and received an Australian Writers and Art Directors Award. Juris is a former Chairperson for the Australian Indonesian Business Council of Victoria, and former National AIBC Board Member, and is part of a number of Business Councils, including being a Member on the Deakin University Languages Advisory Board.
His Indonesian extensive relationships encompass not only those in the commercial sector but includes many Government Departments in most of the ASEAN Countries with which he has associations. This makes business engagement on behalf of his clients very proactive and effective through his personalised style of hands-on trade advisory services which he has tailored taking into account the maze of the very different interactions in between Australia and Indonesia.
Juris�s working life has spanned many industries � from steel product manufacturing, food distribution, high-tech engineering applications; clothing design pattern making and manufacturing, to product development in the agribusiness and cosmetic fields. Juris includes the automotive LPG conversion industry, and he has, for a number of years, travelled extensively to countries that are experiencing growth in this alternative energy sector specifically Indonesia, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. His extensive networking throughout this region includes Thailand, Malaysia and India
