Indonesian for Total Beginners

Whether you plan to embark on a new journey towards learning Bahasa Indonesia or just need a basic reference or knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia, this program is designed for those purposes. Taught by experienced and engaging teachers, this program is all about giving you the most basic knowledge of one of the most important Asian languages, and of course how to use it.
In this course we’ll cover the basics of day-to-day conversation including introductions, meeting people, how to correctly address people in formal and informal conversation, numbers, prices, ordering food, buying at markets, a little about Indonesian cultural norms and expectations – and a whole lot more!
Helpful Indonesian expressions, grammar rules, culture tips and recommendations are all prepared for you by the Badan Bahasa Indonesia (The Language Centre of Indonesia; Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset dan Teknologi Republik Indonesia) and our BIPA team.
Each class will be kept at maximum of 5 participants only, to ensure you have the attention of the instructor.

When do the classes run?
Term 2 classes commence from 26 April 2022 and run for 8 weeks each Tuesday evening from 6:30pm to 8pm.
Where are the classes?
Due to the current pandemic situation, we are running these courses online via Zoom Video call.
After registration we will invite you to a Zoom meeting link allowing you to join.
Cost is $200 for members of the BBBIVT and $250 for non-members. For non-members the language class fee includes membership for 1 year.
